Host Adam Chen talks with TJ Carvis of Gresham Smith about the impact of the physical environment on the employee experience.
About TJ Carvis
TJ Carvis, AIA, LEED AP, is a Project Executive at Gresham Smith.
A resident of Denver, Colorado, Carvis has practiced architectural design and planning for 25 years in a variety of project scales and typologies.
Prior to joining Gresham Smith, Carvis served as Principal at 4240 Architecture and, most recently, as a Vice President at Cannon Design. During his time there, he led project teams from conceptualization through construction in typologies complementary to Gresham Smith’s Life and Work Places market. His portfolio includes many award-winning higher education, commercial mixed-use, hospitality and residential projects, including five buildings in Denver’s Riverfront Park, The Elizabeth Hotel in Fort Collins, The Lionshead Welcome Center in Vail and the University of Colorado Boulder’s Kittredge West and Central Residence Halls.
Carvis holds undergraduate degrees in Economics and Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder, as well as a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Colorado Denver. He serves as the Chair of the American Institute of Architects Colorado Government Affairs Committee. In this role, he works with the Committee to review and comment on legislation that pertains to the architecture industry in the state of Colorado.
Carvis spends much of his leisure time enjoying outdoor activities in Colorado with friends and family, including hiking, skiing and golf.
